We are looking for a hands-on Network Infrastructure Engineer to support and maintain a secure enterprise LAN environment. This is a delivery-focused role suited to someone operating around CCNA / CCNP level, comfortable working across network security, access control, and core LAN services.
Location: Newport (on-site / hybrid as required)
Contract: 12 months
Rate: £600 per day
IR35: Outside IR35
Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain LAN infrastructure in a secure enterprise environment
- Configure and troubleshoot firewalls and proxy services
- Operate and support Network Access Control (NAC) using Cisco ISE
- Manage remote access solutions (Cisco VPN / AAA)
- Support DDI services (DNS, DHCP, IPAM), ideally using EfficientIP
- Investigate incidents, implement fixes, and support ongoing network improvements
- Maintain documentation and follow standard operational processes
Essential Skills & Experience:
- CCNA / CCNP-level networking experience
- Strong understanding of LAN technologies (VLANs, routing, switching, ACLs, NAT)
- Hands-on experience with firewalls (preference for Palo Alto and/or Fortinet)
- Experience using Cisco ISE for network access control
- Experience with remote access / VPN technologies
- Solid troubleshooting skills in live environments
Desirable:
- Experience with DDI platforms, particularly EfficientIP
- Proxy technologies (explicit or transparent)
- Experience working in secure or regulated environments
Additional Notes:
- On-site presence in Newport will be required
- Candidates must be eligible to work in security-conscious environments
