Overview
In this QA Engineer role, you ensure high-quality testing across complex, citizen-facing systems within an Agile, CI/CD environment. You will collaborate with developers, DevOps, and product teams to assess impacts on end users and drive efficient test automation and performance testing. The role blends functional, non-functional, security, and operational testing to support mission-driven public services. Responsibilities
- Perform functional and non-functional testing (performance, accessibility, security, operational/user acceptance) within an Agile team
- Develop and maintain test automation scripts and promote testing best practices
- Create and maintain performance/load/stress tests using standard/open-source tools
- Resolve blockers to keep testing progress moving
- Collaborate with geographically distributed cross-functional teams
- Manage defects from triage to resolution
- Advocate solid testing practices across delivery stakeholders and drive adoption
Key requirements
- Experience with TDD/BDD strategies ensuring test coverage aligned with project/test strategy
- Strong Java coding experience and automated test frameworks (Serenity, RestAssured)
- Experience with API testing tools (Postman)
- Experience integrating testing into Secure-SDLC and CI/CD tooling (GitHub, Jenkins, GitLab SaaS, Artifactory, Nexus)
- Experience testing citizen-facing services
- Experience testing cloud-native, microservice architectures with containerisation and related tools
- Experience with Test Management tools (Jira/Confluence, ALM)
- Awareness of ALM and ITSM tools (Splunk, Grafana, ServiceNow)
