Overview

In this QA Engineer role, you will perform functional and non-functional testing on complex systems within an Agile, CI/CD environment. You’ll work closely with developers, DevOps, and product stakeholders to ensure high-quality software that supports public-sector projects. You will develop and maintain test automation and performance testing solutions, improving efficiency and coverage. You’ll contribute to robust testing practices while navigating distributed teams and secure development processes. Responsibilities

  • Perform functional and non-functional testing (performance, accessibility, security, operational/user acceptance) within an Agile team
  • Develop and maintain test automation solutions and scripts
  • Develop and maintain performance/load/stress testing using standard/open-source tools
  • Resolve blockers and keep testing progress moving
  • Collaborate with geographically distributed cross-functional teams
  • Defect management and triage through resolution
  • Promote solid testing practices to stakeholders and drive adoption

Key requirements

  • Experience with TDD/BDD or Acceptance Test Driven Development strategies and test strategy development
  • Strong Java coding experience and knowledge of automated test frameworks (e.g., Serenity, RestAssured)
  • Strong API testing experience (ideally Postman)
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling in a DevSecOps environment (GitHub, Jenkins, GitLab SaaS, Artifactory, Nexus)
  • Experience testing citizen-facing services
  • Experience testing cloud-native, distributed microservice architectures with containerisation
  • Familiarity with ALM tools (Jira/Confluence) and ITSM tools (Splunk, Grafana, ServiceNow)
  • Eligible for SC Clearance
