The successful candidate will be comfortable operating in complex enterprise environments, balancing on-prem SharePoint architecture with cloud services in Microsoft 365, while ensuring alignment with organisational security, compliance, and technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

    • Design solutions for identity, authentication, and access management leveraging technologies such as Azure AD / Entra ID and federated identity.
    • Support the adoption of modern collaboration capabilities while maintaining compatibility with legacy on-prem environments.
    • Provide technical leadership for migration, upgrade, and transformation initiatives.
  • Governance & Security
    • Define and maintain SharePoint governance models, including site architecture, data classification, retention policies, and permissions structures.
    • Ensure collaboration platforms meet security, compliance, and data protection requirements.
    • Work with cyber security and risk teams to embed secure-by-design architecture principles.
  • Technical Leadership
    • Provide architectural leadership and technical assurance across delivery teams.
    • Review solution designs and implementation approaches to ensure alignment with architectural standards.
    • Engage with stakeholders across infrastructure, security, and application teams to deliver integrated solutions.
    • Act as the technical authority for SharePoint platforms within the organisation.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Technical Architect or Solution Architect in enterprise environments.
  • Experience with information management, classification and retention, and IRM.
  • Strong expertise in SharePoint architecture (on-prem and Microsoft 365 / SharePoint Online).
  • Experience designing solutions across hybrid infrastructure environments.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 platform services including SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Experience integrating enterprise systems with Azure services.
  • Familiarity with AWS hosted services and integration patterns.
  • Strong understanding of identity and access management including Azure AD / Entra ID.
  • Ability to produce architecture documentation and technical designs.

  • Knowledge of enterprise collaboration governance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Power Platform integration (Power Automate, Power Apps).
  • Experience working in large or regulated environments.
