We are looking for 2 x Cloud Engineers to support the next delivery phase of SCOUT, an AI-driven assurance platform used to improve the efficiency and quality of Government Major Project reviews. SCOUT has completed private beta and is now moving into a phase focused on automation, scalability, security, and wider organisational adoption.
Role Overview
You will be responsible for deploying and supporting AI services on Amazon Web Services, with a strong focus on AWS Bedrock, ensuring the platform is secure, scalable, and usable by non-technical teams. The work centres on infrastructure, integration, and light service changes — not greenfield application development.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy and manage AI services using AWS Bedrock
- Configure infrastructure and environment variables for AI API access
- Deploy and manage services including ECS, S3, Cognito, and RDS
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
- Make minor updates to existing microservices where required
- Ensure the platform supports a test environment of ~100 users
- Enable smooth operation for non-technical project leadership
- Support secure integration with key datasets (EAS, GRIP, GRIP+)
Platform Objectives You’ll Support
- Full automation of document processing and user onboarding
- Secure, direct document uploads (no external hosting dependencies)
- System admin capability for enterprise user management
- Improved chat interface and support for concurrent users
- Progression toward full security accreditation
- Expansion of SCOUT usage across assurance and review teams
Nice to Have (Time Permitting)
- Experience with data analysis across multiple datasets
- Familiarity with report generation or structured document outputs
- Interest in collaborative tooling and knowledge sharing features
Requirements
- Strong AWS experience in production environments
- Hands-on Terraform experience
- Understanding of secure, scalable cloud platforms
- Ability to work in a regulated / government environment
- Active SC Clearance (or ability to obtain)
