Methods are looking for a Senior User Researcher.

Daily rate: £550 Inside IR35

Location: 3 days a week in Newcastle

Duration: 12 months contract

Background

The resource will plan and carry out ethical research with internal colleagues and vulnerable users, turning findings into evidence that improves the service and increases delivery pace. They will work with multidisciplinary colleagues and influence senior stakeholders to support long term change.

Overview of Requirement

You will understand complex technical and policy information, design and run ethical research with a highly vulnerable user group, and work to the government service standard. They will identify opportunities to improve the service and increase pace, and communicate and influence effectively with senior stakeholders across the department to build long term relationships that support transformation.

Key activities include:

  • Planning and designing user research programmes, testing high level concepts and specific aspects of the service as it is designed and developed.
  • Carrying out ethical research with internal colleagues and a highly vulnerable user group.
  • Mapping and creating user journeys, balancing user needs with business objectives.
  • Using quantitative and qualitative data to turn user focus into outcomes, with analysis and recommendations that address stakeholder needs.
  • Working across teams and wider departments, collaborating and consulting with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Influencing and making the case for change to Policy and Legal.
  • Creating credible, evidence based documentation and synthesis involving vulnerable users.
  • Being a credible advocate for user research and user centred design with sceptical and non-sceptical stakeholders.
  • Participating in agile ceremonies and contributing to multidisciplinary reviews.

Tools used may include: Jira, MS Teams, Confluence, Miro, GitHub and other applications used within the UCD practice.
