- Understand the HALO application - learn the existing architecture, codebase, integrations, environments, and technical constraints.
- Pick up backlog tickets - understand what each ticket needs and determine how it should be implemented.
- Refine tickets - work with Product Owners, Business Analysts and other developers to clarify requirements, acceptance criteria, dependencies and technical approach.
- Develop and test changes - write code, fix defects, create/update automated tests and ensure changes meet the required quality standards.
- Take work through to production - follow the client's development, testing, approval and release processes rather than simply handing completed code over.
- Participate in discovery sessions - provide technical input when the team is investigating new requirements or problems, including explaining what is technically possible and identifying risks.
- Work with the existing developers - understand their ways of working and contribute as part of the established engineering team.
- Troubleshoot production issues - investigate defects or unexpected behaviour and implement fixes where required.
- Manage technical risks and dependencies - flag anything that could prevent a ticket from reaching production.
- Help achieve the delivery target - contribute to getting the 100 high- and medium-priority tickets successfully into production by the end of the financial year.
This will be a 6 week initial contract that is likely to extend.
