We are looking to widen our pool of Conveners to help convene panels for Appeal, Pastoral and Discipline committees. The role consists of:
- Convening panels in accordance with Standing Orders
- Arranging venues
- Communicating with all parties involved in the case
- Minute taking to aid report writing for the Chairs
About You
- Is a lay person who is a member or a Presbyter in good standing with the Methodist Church
- Clear communicative skills
- Organizational skills
- Ability to take minutes and arrange meetings
- Works well within a team of people
- A working understanding of Standing Orders
Duration
Ongoing, with a minimum of 3 years, with names put forward to conference annually to be approved.
Time Commitment
Ability to offer to convene a minimum of 2 panels per Connexional year. All offers of appointment are conditional upon satisfactory DBS checks by the Methodist Church.
