About MHA

MHA is one of the UK’s largest charitable care providers, supporting older people to live later life well. We are committed to continually improving how we work and how we develop our services to meet the changing needs of the people we support.

About the role

As Service Development Partner, you will support the development of services, processes and operating models across MHA, helping to turn organisational priorities into practical and workable approaches. Reporting to the Strategic Planning & Design Manager, you will work closely with operational and corporate teams to understand current ways of working, identify opportunities for improvement and develop options for how services could operate in the future. You will contribute to a wide range of strategic and organisational priorities, helping to shape service proposals, operating models, process improvements, business cases and implementation approaches before they move into delivery. This is a highly collaborative role, bringing together strategic thinking, operational insight and commercial awareness to ensure that proposed changes are practical, sustainable and capable of delivering real value for MHA, our colleagues and the people we support.

About you

We are looking for someone who is curious, pragmatic and improvement-focused, with the ability to work across organisational boundaries and turn ideas into practical solutions. You will have experience in areas such as service development, business improvement, transformation, service design, organisational change, business analysis or a related discipline. You will be comfortable:

  • Working with operational and corporate teams to understand challenges and identify opportunities.
  • Developing service models, processes and practical operating approaches.
  • Facilitating workshops and collaborative discussions with a range of stakeholders.
  • Developing clear options, recommendations and proposals to support decision-making.
  • Considering operational impacts, dependencies, risks and implementation requirements.
  • Contributing to business cases, benefits thinking and options appraisal.
  • Bringing commercial awareness to service development, including consideration of value, sustainability and practical delivery.
  • Communicating complex information clearly and influencing stakeholders at different levels.
  • Using digital tools, technology and emerging approaches such as AI to support improvement and innovation.

Experience within social care, healthcare or another complex operational environment would be advantageous, but we are also interested in candidates who can bring relevant experience and fresh thinking from other sectors. This is an opportunity to play an important role in shaping how MHA develops its services and ways of working. Working as part of the Strategic Planning & Design team, you will have the opportunity to influence how new ideas and organisational priorities are developed into practical service models and ways of working. You will work with colleagues and leaders across MHA, gaining broad organisational exposure and helping to shape solutions that improve colleague experience, resident experience and organisational effectiveness. If you enjoy bringing together strategic thinking, commercial awareness and operational reality to develop better services, we would love to hear from you. If you are looking for a varied role where no day is the same we would love to hear from you.
