The Role
You will operate as a hands-on 1LOD technology risk and controls practitioner, working directly with infrastructure, cloud, application and engineering teams to help controls work effectively in day-to-day delivery. This is an enablement role, not an oversight or reporting role.

- Help control owners simplify processes and reduce manual control activities
- Support pragmatic automation of controls and evidence where appropriate
- Own and maintain elements of the technology risk and control framework

We are looking for someone who is comfortable operating in the First Line of Defence and enjoys being close to technology delivery. You are likely to have:
- Experience in technology risk, IT controls or first-line technology governance
- Experience operating in a 1LOD or 1LOD-adjacent role within a technology environment
- Hands-on exposure to IT General Controls (ITGCs) such as access, change and incident controls
- Experience working directly with engineers, infrastructure or cloud teams
- A practical understanding of modern SDLC and engineering environments
- Experience in a regulated environment (financial services preferred, not essential)
- Strong influencing skills and confidence operating without line management responsibility
