Resource Planning Manager Contract Β£450 per day | Inside IR35 | Bristol - 3 days per week onsite We are looking for an experienced contractor to take ownership of resource planning and resource management across a busy, project-led environment. This is not a traditional governance-heavy PMO role. The focus is on ensuring that the organisation has clear, accurate visibility of its people, capacity and future resource requirements. You will work with project and operational leaders to identify demand, resolve resource conflicts and improve how resources are allocated across competing priorities. Key responsibilities Own and maintain resource plans using Deltek, Polaris or a comparable resource-management platform Provide an accurate view of current capacity, utilisation and future demand Coordinate the allocation and scheduling of people across projects and programmes Identify resource gaps, over-allocation and potential delivery constraints Work with project managers and senior stakeholders to understand changing requirements Produce clear management information covering utilisation, availability and resource forecasts Support forward planning, workforce decisions and recruitment requirements Improve the quality, consistency and reliability of resource data Develop practical resource-planning processes where existing arrangements need strengthening What we're looking for Strong, demonstrable experience in resource planning, resource management or workforce planning Practical experience using Deltek, Polaris or a closely related resource-planning system Experience managing resources across multiple projects, teams or workstreams Strong analytical skills and confidence working with capacity, utilisation and demand data Ability to identify conflicts and turn resource information into clear recommendations Confident stakeholder-management skills Comfortable operating independently and bringing structure to a changing environment Experience within a consultancy, professional-services, engineering or project-led organisation would be advantageous This position could suit an experienced Resource Planning Manager, Resource Manager, Workforce Planning Manager, PMO Resource Manager or Project Resource Analyst. The title matters less than your ability to manage resource demand, capacity and allocation effectively.
