Method Resourcing have partnered with a fantastic buy-side firm looking for a Production Engineer who can strengthen the team’s Linux, troubleshooting, and operational engineering capability. This is a role for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, enjoys solving problems end-to-end, and wants broad technical exposure across platforms, cloud, containers, and automation.
The Opportunity
You’ll join a technology operations function that supports everything outside of pure software development covering infrastructure, testing, platform engineering, cybersecurity, and production services. The team now needs someone with deeper Linux fundamentals, strong debugging instincts, and the confidence to own issues at both OS and application level.
This role sits at the intersection of platform engineering, production services, and the data team, acting as a key link that keeps systems running smoothly and supports traders and internal users when issues arise.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Owning and resolving complex technical issues across Linux systems, applications, and internal platforms.
- Acting as a bridge between several technical teams, ensuring smooth communication and coordinated delivery.
- Troubleshooting at depth - identifying root causes, improving processes, and preventing repeat issues.
- Supporting containerised and cloud-based environments across on-prem infrastructure and AWS.
- Using Python to automate tasks, improve workflows, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Driving operational excellence by contributing to monitoring, observability, and automation improvements.
What You’ll Bring
- Strong Linux engineering background with proven troubleshooting skills (essential).
- Exposure to Python for automation and tooling.
- Experience working with AWS in production environments.
- Comfortable with Docker, configuration management, and infrastructure tooling (HashiCorp stack ideal).
- Ability to navigate complex hybrid environments and learn new technologies quickly.
- A mindset suited to smaller, high-ownership teams - able to handle pressure, work independently, and avoid unnecessary escalations.
