We're looking for a Senior AI Automation Engineer to join a growing specialist AI engineering capability within a major UK company.
This is a hands-on engineering role focused on designing and delivering production-grade AI applications, intelligent agents and automated workflows within a large, governed enterprise environment.
You'll work across Microsoft Copilot, Python, Power Platform and Azure, combining modern software engineering with AI and workflow automation to build solutions that move beyond proof-of-concept and into real-world production use.
The role
You'll sit at the intersection of AI engineering, software development and intelligent automation, taking ownership of the technical design and delivery of AI-powered solutions used across the business.
Your work will include:
Designing and building AI agents and multi-step automated workflows
Developing production-grade Python services, APIs and automation pipelines
Building solutions using Microsoft Copilot Studio and Power Platform
Orchestrating workflows across Copilot Studio, Azure AI / Azure AI Foundry and internal enterprise systems
Integrating AI applications with existing platforms through REST/GraphQL APIs and event-driven architectures
Developing reusable connectors, tools, services and agent capabilities
Designing agent orchestration, tool-use and integration patterns
Building CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks
Deploying and monitoring AI applications in production
Ensuring solutions are scalable, observable, secure and maintainable
Leading technical design discussions and code reviews
Helping establish engineering standards and supporting the development of more junior engineers
What we're looking for
We're looking for an experienced engineer who combines strong software engineering fundamentals with practical experience delivering AI and automation solutions.
Strong commercial Python engineering experience, including APIs, testing, modular architecture and asynchronous processing
