As an Associate Director of Business Strategy, you will lead strategic projects that exist across the product lifecycle.
You will tackle complex, high-impact challenges through a mix of hands-on work and guiding teammates.
Your core activities will include framing opportunities with clients, structuring and leading business research, planning and facilitating collaborative workshops to drive opportunity explorations, gain alignment and roadmap the future of a client’s products and services.
You will partner closely with a client, serving as a champion to ensure our work meets their needs and as an advisor to further their business aspirations through strategy and design.
You’ll guide your project team in communicating complex concepts in written and diagrammatic formats and support design, product, data and engineering teams to bring digital products and services to market by translating strategies into actionable outcomes.
This is a UK or Europe-based position. Travel for team and client meetings is required, typically up to 15%.
Responsibilities
- Lead a multidisciplinary team through complex projects. Plan, design, and lead the execution of business strategy activities to inform the direction of enterprise client work.
- Guide clients to the best outcome for their business and end users, thinking holistically about human needs, operational constraints, organizational culture, and technical possibility.
- Translate strategic, operational, and financial business requirements into holistic deliverables, often in novel and fluid environments that require connecting dots in real-time.
- Craft and drive digital transformation initiatives.
- Plan and host collaborative workshops and work sessions with internal and external teams.
- Play an active role in new business activities to help define ways to win projects. Frame, challenge and translate client briefs into clear project proposals.
- Scope projects to deliver on time and to a high standard. Demonstrate thought leadership, educate and share knowledge with others.
- Foster a culture of curiosity on the interplay between design, product and technology that manifests in how projects are framed and executed.
- Mentor and/or manage others inside and outside our Design & Strategy disciplines.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in consulting, agency, innovation, startup, project management, or a similar discipline.
- 1+ year team management experience — a high level of personal awareness and appreciation of the skills of others and are an active participant in strategy and design discussions across our global team.
- Fluent in English with excellent verbal/written communication and polished presentation presence.
Ability to successfully articulate ideas and intent to your team and your client.
- Demonstrated success in effecting change and/or launching products or ventures in a startup or corporate environment, involving working across multiple stakeholder groups and joining dots to bring better alignment and understanding.
- Experience in leading primary and secondary research from start to finish, including learning plans, approach and methods, interviews, tools, analysis and report creation.
- Ability to collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, etc., as it pertains to developing digital products.
- Ability and willingness to shift working hours on a project/temporary basis depending on client need and location in order to accommodate client, team, and project needs.
- Location
UK and Europe, remote-first working with occasional need to be in our London office. Travel typically up to 15% for team and client meetings.
