Metcalfe Farms is a family run business in its third and fourth generations, evolving from an 80-year-old dairy farm into a diversified business involved in heavy haulage, agricultural contracting, dairy farming, quarrying and driver training, all situated in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. The company prioritises environmental awareness.

The Role

We are seeking C+E drivers to join our bulk haulage team, operating a fleet of 100 vehicles specialising in the movement of bulk (TASCC & Aggregate) loads across the UK and Europe. Full in‑house training is provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a respectful, positive attitude towards others and behave in an honest and open manner.
  • Work effectively as part of a team and under one's own initiative.
  • Work safely, comply with health and safety legislation, and insist others do the same.
  • Be practical and possess basic mechanical understanding.
  • Plan routes.
  • Be able to work away from home, including 4 to 5 nights out a week.
  • Be able to work weekends when required.
  • Use Microsoft Office and Outlook.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate an ability to prioritise, cope under pressure and work to strict deadlines.

Qualifications Required

  • Hold a valid C+E driving licence.
  • Hold a current Driver CPC card.
  • Hold a digital tachograph card.
  • Knowledge of driver hours regulations.
  • Experience in moving bulk is an advantage but not necessary as full training will be provided.

Additional Requirements

  • HGV C+E licence held for over 2 years.
  • No more than 6 licence points.
