Metcalfe Plant Hire is one of the North of England’s largest construction plant hire businesses. Based in Penrith, Cumbria, we are currently recruiting for a part-time Plant Administrative Assistant to join the team.
The Role
To provide efficient administrative support with a primary focus on preparing and processing sales invoices relating to Sweepers and Tippers, while assisting with a range of ad‑hoc office administration duties to support the smooth running of the Plant Division.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Invoicing
- Prepare and process accurate sales invoices for sweepers, tippers, and related services/equipment.
- Verify job sheets, delivery notes, and supporting documentation prior to invoicing.
- Ensure invoices are issued in a timely manner and in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain accurate invoicing records and filing systems.
- Liaise with operations, workshop, and finance teams regarding invoice queries.
- Assist with credit notes and customer account reconciliations where required.
- General Administration
- Provide day‑to‑day administrative support to management and office staff.
- Answer telephone calls and respond to emails professionally.
- Maintain electronic and paper filing systems.
- Input and update data on internal systems and spreadsheets.
- Assist with document preparation, scanning, and correspondence.
- Support ad‑hoc administrative tasks as directed.
