Metalis are currently working in partnership with a precision engineering company and are looking to recruit an experienced Manual Turner on a permanent basis due to continued growth and expansion. Job Duties:
- Setting and operating manual turning machines to manufacture precision components to specification
- Working from engineering drawings and technical instructions
- Producing high-quality components to tight tolerances
- Inspecting finished components using measuring equipment to ensure accuracy
- Carrying out machine adjustments and basic maintenance as required
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with quality and health & safety standards
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient work area
- Working collaboratively as part of a skilled engineering team
Job Requirements:
- Previous experience operating manual turning machinery essential
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience working to tight tolerances within a precision engineering environment
- Confident using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, and gauges
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a growing business
Shifts & Salary:
- 40 hours per week (typically 7:00am - 3:30pm, with flexibility)
- Many team members currently work 6:30am - 3:30pm Monday to Thursday
- Early finish on Fridays (typically 6:30am - 12:30pm)
- Circa £18.50 per hour (dependent on experience)
