Metalis are currently working in partnership with a precision engineering company and are looking to recruit an experienced Manual Turner on a permanent basis due to continued growth and expansion. Job Duties:

  • Setting and operating manual turning machines to manufacture precision components to specification
  • Working from engineering drawings and technical instructions
  • Producing high-quality components to tight tolerances
  • Inspecting finished components using measuring equipment to ensure accuracy
  • Carrying out machine adjustments and basic maintenance as required
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with quality and health & safety standards
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient work area
  • Working collaboratively as part of a skilled engineering team

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience operating manual turning machinery essential
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experience working to tight tolerances within a precision engineering environment
  • Confident using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers, and gauges
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a growing business

Shifts & Salary:

  • 40 hours per week (typically 7:00am - 3:30pm, with flexibility)
  • Many team members currently work 6:30am - 3:30pm Monday to Thursday
  • Early finish on Fridays (typically 6:30am - 12:30pm)
  • Circa £18.50 per hour (dependent on experience)
