We are currently recruiting for an experienced

Plater to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing company based in Chesterfield.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual looking to join a busy workshop with regular daytime hours and opportunities for overtime.

Duties &Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble steel components from engineering drawings.
  • Mark out, cut, shape, and fit metal sections to specification.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings accurately.
  • Use a variety of fabrication tools and workshop equipment.
  • Tack weld components where required prior to final welding.
  • Carry out quality checks to ensure work meets required standards.
  • Work safely and maintain a clean and organised work area.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to meet production deadlines.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a Plater or Fabricator within a heavy engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience working with structural steel, plate, or heavy fabrication.
  • Competent using hand tools, grinders, drills, and fabrication equipment.
  • Good attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
