Metalis are working with a well-established precision engineering manufacturer based in Nottingham (NG9) who are looking to add an experienced CNC Miller (Setter/Operator/Programmer) to their machining team.
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled CNC Miller with experience setting, operating, and programming CNC milling machines in a precision engineering environment. You will be responsible for producing high-quality components to engineering drawings, ensuring parts are manufactured to the highest standards while maintaining efficiency and quality throughout the production process. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing engineering business offering a long-term opportunity with the potential for permanent employment after a successful 12-week temporary period.
Key Responsibilities
- Set, operate and programme CNC milling machines.
- Manufacture precision components to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Programme and edit programmes using Fanuc controls.
- Set and operate Brother and Haas CNC machining centres.
- Carry out first-off and in-process inspection using measuring equipment.
- Ensure components meet quality standards and customer specifications.
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment.
- Work efficiently to achieve production targets while maintaining high levels of quality.
Who Would Be Suitable
- Previous experience as a CNC Miller (Setter/Operator/Programmer).
- Experience setting, operating and programming CNC milling machines.
- Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Confident using a range of measuring and inspection equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to work.
Ideal Background
- Experience working with Brother CNC machining centres.
- Experience operating Haas CNC milling machines.
- Knowledge of Fanuc programming and controls.
- Apprentice-trained or time-served machinist.
