Metalis Engineering are currently working alongside a manufacturer in Sheffield who due to high demand are now looking for an Assembly Operative to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established industrial business offering a stable shift pattern, competitive rates of pay, and regular overtime opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate workshop machinery, including lathes and saws, ensuring safe and efficient production at all times.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools to assemble, adjust, and reset guiding equipment in line with operational requirements.
- Safely handle, move, and transport materials, components, and equipment throughout the manufacturing process.
- Carry out routine equipment maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, inspections, and basic preventative maintenance tasks.
- Diagnose and resolve minor equipment or process issues, helping to minimise downtime and maintain productivity.
- Use measuring instruments such as verniers and micrometres to verify product quality, while adhering to all health, safety, and PPE requirements.
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience operating CNC machinery, grinding, polishing, or finishing equipment
- Assembly experience
- Experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Proficient with hand and power tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

- £15.76ph
- Overtime Available
- Consistent shift pattern: 2 days, 2 nights, Monday-Thursday
- Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday off
