Trainee CAD/CAM Programmer

Overview
We are seeking an individual to train as a CAD CAM operative to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in IT, metal fabrication would be an advantage, as is demonstrating proficiency in one or more areas. This role will involve training both in house and off site to produce 3D drawings of high-quality metal cabinets and components for our projects, ensuring that all work meets industry standards and customer specifications.

Duties

• An initial stint in our assembly department to learn about the products and how they are built before moving on to the CAD training
• Programming using Solidworks to convert 2D customer drawings in to 3D Modelling for production, fabrication and construction of metal cabinets.
• Working to create precise shapes and designs from sheet metal.
• Converting final Solidworks drawings in to RADAN ready for punching
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with team members to optimise production processes and resolve any issues that arise .

Skills

• Excellent IT skills
• Practical welding and or manufacturing experience an advantage
• Strong ability to visualise 3D modelling
• Experience working with sheet metal and understanding its properties an advantage.
• Basic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
