To guide, mentor, and deliver teaching and workshops to apprentices working in the insurance and banking sectors, helping them develop the technical knowledge, regulatory understanding, and professional behaviours required to succeed in their roles and complete their apprenticeship programmes.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver structured coaching and mentoring to apprentices in insurance, banking, and financial services roles.
  • Support learners in understanding industry-specific regulations, products, customer service standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor progress against apprenticeship standards (e.g., Level 3 Insurance Practitioner, Level 3 Senior Financial Services Customer Adviser).
  • Provide constructive feedback on portfolios, assignments, and workshop attendance.
  • Collaborate with employers to ensure apprentices gain relevant experience and meet learning objectives.
  • Conduct and maintain accurate learner records.
  • Encourage reflective practice and continuous professional development.
  • Identify and address learning barriers, and tailor support where required.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

ESSENTIAL:

  • Industry-recognized qualification in insurance, banking, or financial services (e.g., CII, LIBF, CeMAP).
  • Teaching or assessing qualification (e.g., A1 Assessor, CAVA, Level 3 Award in Education and Training).
  • Professional experience in insurance, banking, or financial services roles.
  • Experience supporting learners or coaching in a workplace or educational setting (preferred).

DESIRABLE:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Deep understanding of insurance and banking operations, products, and regulations.
  • Ability to guide learners through structured development plans and apprenticeship standards.
  • Empathetic and motivational coaching style.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with strong record-keeping skills.
  • Comfortable using digital learning platforms and tools.
