We're looking for an experienced and hands-on Production Team Leader to lead one of our production areas, taking responsibility for safety, quality, people and daily operational performance.

This is an ideal opportunity for an ambitious Supervisor or Team Leader looking to take the next step in their leadership career within a growing manufacturing business.

The Role

Reporting to the Production Manager, you'll lead a team consisting of a Deputy Team Leader, Senior Operator and Operators, ensuring production targets are achieved whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and operational discipline. This role is in the Fabrication area so is primarily assembling the leaves and posts of the steel doorsets in preparation for them to go to paint.

You'll be a visible presence on the shop floor, providing leadership, support and direction to your team whilst driving performance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and develop your team to deliver outstanding performance.
  • Ensure products are manufactured safely and to specification.
  • Manage production output in line with daily and weekly plans.
  • Conduct regular one-to-ones, probation reviews and return to work discussions.
  • Approve holidays, verify timesheets and support workforce planning.
  • Drive a strong safety-first culture across the department.
  • Complete and oversee quality inspections and quality control activities.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues and elevate where necessary.
  • Support training, development and succession planning within the team.
  • Champion continuous improvement and high standards of housekeeping.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience supervising or leading teams within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to manage performance, attendance and day-to-day people issues.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • A proactive leader who can build engagement, accountability and teamwork.
  • Experience within fabrication, engineering, assembly or manufacturing would be advantageous.

What do you get?

  • Salary - £38-42k depending on experience.
  • 24 days holiday plus bank holidays, increasing 1 per year for the first 4 years up to 28 + 8 bank holidays.
  • Working 7am-3.30pm Monday to Friday, with overtime available at increased rates.
