Help shape the future of safety in a growing manufacturing business As we continue to expand, we're looking for an experienced Senior HSE Advisor / HSE Manager to take ownership of health, safety and environmental performance across our business. We're looking for someone who can influence culture, build engagement, challenge standards, and ensure that health, safety and environmental thinking is embedded into everything we do. You'll work directly with operational leaders and the Senior Leadership Team, helping create an environment where people go home safe every day and operational excellence can thrive. As our Senior HSE Advisor / HSE Manager, you will act as the company's competent person for health and safety, providing expert guidance whilst leading the development of practical, effective systems that support both compliance and operational performance. You'll have the opportunity to influence the business at every level, from shop floor teams through to senior leadership, helping drive a positive safety culture built around accountability, engagement and continuous improvement. You'll lead health, safety and environmental initiatives across manufacturing, warehouse and office operations, shaping how we manage risk, develop people and continuously improve our standards. As our HSE lead, you will: Develop and deliver Metador's health, safety and environmental strategy. Drive a positive, proactive safety culture through coaching, engagement and visible leadership. Act as the business's subject matter expert on all HSE matters. Support managers in understanding and delivering their health and safety responsibilities. Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety and environmental legislation. Lead relationships with external bodies including the HSE, Environment Agency and local authorities where required. Develop and review risk assessments, COSHH assessments and safe systems of work. Deliver toolbox talks, safety campaigns and training initiatives. Monitor environmental performance and support sustainability initiatives. Lead the development and continual improvement of HSE policies, procedures and systems. Manage contractor approval processes, RAMS reviews and permit-to-work activities. We're looking for someone with a strong practical understanding of health and safety, combined with the ability to influence behaviours and drive meaningful improvements. Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation. Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering, fabrication or similar industrial environment. Experience conducting risk assessments and implementing practical control measures. The ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced operational environment. NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent. NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 6 Occupational Health & Safety. Environmental qualification such as IEMA or equivalent. Can balance compliance requirements with commercial realities. Salary £45k+ but broad depending on experience.
