Job summary: The General Practitioner (GP) – Diabetes Educator will play a key role in the comprehensive care of patients with diabetes and related metabolic conditions. The role combines clinical expertise as a licensed GP with specialized responsibilities in diabetes education, patient counselling, and lifestyle modification support. Working closely with endocrinologists, dietitians, lifestyle coaches, and other healthcare professionals, the GP will ensure patients receive holistic and evidence-based care to improve outcomes and long-term quality of life. This is a high-impact clinical and educational role suited to a motivated GP who is passionate about diabetes care and thrives in a multidisciplinary, technology-enabled environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Clinical Care: Provide clinical consultations and ongoing management for patients with diabetes and related metabolic conditions, under the supervision of the Medical Director and in collaboration with the endocrinology team. Assess patients' medical history, lifestyle, and current treatment plans to deliver personalized, evidence-based recommendations. Support the initiation and titration of diabetes medications and insulin therapy in accordance with clinical protocols and under specialist guidance. Monitor and document patient progress accurately and in a timely manner within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system ensuring accurate clinical documentation in line with GDPR, UK data protection regulations, and record-keeping standards. Adhere to GMC standards of good clinical practice and maintain up-to-date revalidation and CPD requirements.
