The Meta Legal team is seeking a driven, highly organised, detail-oriented professional with exemplary judgment and demonstrated experience in communication to join our Law Enforcement Response Policy Team for the EMEA region. The ideal applicant will demonstrate a proven experience of consistently working effectively with others, adapting to changing circumstances, and supporting colleagues when needed and superior collaboration abilities. This is a full time role in line with our in-office policies.
Required Skills
- Support operational escalations related to critical subject matters from global team members, quality assurance team, and cross-functional partners, and collaborate on operational policy decisions with the legal team.
- Develop and maintain the operational policy and procedures governance to support a team handling a large volume of incoming requests from law enforcement and third parties.
- Ensure that all requests are scrutinised and handled in strict accordance with applicable laws, our terms of service, and our law enforcement guidelines.
- Address sensitive content issues, including but not limited to graphic images, videos and writings, offensive or derogatory language, and other objectionable material.
- Track the progress of operational policies and processes from submission to implementation.
- Manage and coordinate development of operational policy/process based upon input from cross-functional teams.
- Outline operational policy background, supporting rationale, and positions in internal policy meetings with Meta stakeholders, including management, operations, and other internal stakeholders.
- Identify operational policy and process gaps and deliver ongoing communications to team members.
- Draft operational policy-related materials, including reports, propose documentation updates, develop documentation based on legal guidance, create instructional content, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) with step‑by‑step guidance, with the capacity to proof, revise, and edit to ensure both accuracy and quality of content, convert complex ideas and concepts into easily understood documentation.
- Engage and build relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure that development and operational readiness requirements are understood and implemented.
- Ensure proper tracking and reporting on engagement and outcomes of operational policy efforts, and provide cross‑functional partners with information on operational policy development activity.
- Provide support to leadership as needed, including documentation change management and metrics.
- Manage time effectively to prioritise multiple competing priorities.
- Lead and support globally focused projects.
- Accommodate changing work hours.
- Travel domestically and internationally as required.
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS degree.
- 8+ years of experience in operational, policy, government, legal, compliance, privacy, or strategy experience.
- Proven capacity to manage and resolve complex problems and issues, using judgment in handling critical matters while maintaining confidentiality.
- Experience prioritising multiple functions and tasks while managing core work responsibilities without compromising quality.
- Proficiency to work with self‑direction with minimal direct supervision.
- Experience working at a tech company or with tech clients, including technical drafting skills.
- Experience partnering both within the team and with a wide range of internal partners.
- Capacity to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with project management, working under pressure, instructional design, proofreading, crisis management, and issue‑based communications.
- Experience in law enforcement operational policy and risk‑assessment, and a knowledge of privacy and data security principles.
- Global work experience.
