The Meta Reality Labs Research Team brings together a world-class team of researchers, developers, and engineers to create the future of AR and VR. The Surreal Vision group at FRL Research is seeking exceptional Research Engineers to help build the egocentric machine perception functionalities for VR and contextual-AI-enabled AR devices. We do this by developing - and leveraging - Project Aria. This role focuses on working with design and working directly with researchers to build out new prototypes and experiences.
Research Engineer Responsibilities
- Working directly with researchers to build out new prototypes and experiences
- Creating new experiences and visualizations for scene understanding research projects
- Creating prototypes to explore novel use cases for Aria glasses
- Identifying needs for new tooling, dashboards or examples to support research scientists
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ Years prototyping experience in Gaming Industry
- 3+ years experience with building prototypes in short time frames, and various levels of fidelity
- 3+ years experience defining strategy and solving ambiguous problems through rapid iteration
- Experience with portfolio featuring examples of interactive prototype work
- Experience with 3D scene understanding
- Programming Experience with C++ / C#
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years experience with qualitative and quantitative methods for user research, and experience working with research scientists
- Portfolio featuring examples of interactive prototyping with AR/VR/MR headset
