03 / DAY TO DAY
What you'll actually be doing.
- Responding to IT-related tickets
- Keeping documentation up to date
- Helping to spearhead a migration of client data into a new system
- Setting up new PCs and laptops
- Setting up new users on internal systems
- Networking PCs to printers, scanners and other hardware
- Troubleshooting and technical fault diagnostics through remote access and on‑site support
- Assisting with on‑site projects and migrations
- Remote support to assist customers with IT‑related issues and queries
- Administrative tasks such as daily server, monitoring and backup checks

The skills and qualities we’re looking for.
You don't need to know everything on day one.
The apprenticeship is there to teach you.
But you'll get the most out of it if you already have a real interest in technology and the basics below.
- Understanding of Office 365 and how to install associated applications
- Some exposure to Windows Server and Active Directory
- Networking fundamentals and what they do: LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN
- Understanding of DNS
- Understanding of computer components and their functions
- A solid grasp of troubleshooting and fault diagnosis stages
- Punctual and reliable
- Good communicator, written and verbal
- Comfortable with creative thinking and problem solving
- A genuine team player who enjoys working with others
- Eager to learn, with a strong work ethic
- 05 / ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
What you need to apply.
A minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade A-C (or 4-9), including English and Maths, or equivalent.
06 / TRAINING & PROGRESSION
Where this can take you.
You’ll work towards the ICT Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard on the Support Technician pathway, over roughly 18 months plus the End Point Assessment.
- A potential full‑time position once the apprenticeship has concluded
- Pay review on completion of the apprenticeship and good performance
- The chance to be promoted to a more senior role with additional responsibilities, if your work ethic warrants it
- Progression onto higher apprenticeships and further training
