Warehouse Operative / FLT Driver (Counterbalance) – Temp to Perm
Location: Wednesbury
Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Role Overview
We are currently recruiting for a reliable and flexible Warehouse Operative with a valid Counterbalance Forklift licence to join a busy warehouse and stores environment. This is a 6-month temporary role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. This position involves a mix of warehouse duties, FLT driving, and occasional 3.5t van driving across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck to move heavy stock and crates
- Working within the stores area, handling and organising stock
- Moving and handling cast iron cookers (heavy lifting involved)
- Booking goods in and updating records on internal systems (must be computer literate)
- Using spreadsheets and general computer systems accurately
- Ensuring all tasks are completed in line with health & safety procedures
Driving Requirements
- 3.5T van driving required approximately 1 day per week
- Deliveries may involve early starts (potentially 4am first drop)
- When not driving, standard warehouse hours apply: 7:00am – 3:00pm
Training
- 2-week initial training period based in the factory to learn processes and products
What We’re Looking For
- Valid FLT Counterbalance Licence (essential)
- Previous warehouse or stores experience
- Experience driving a 3.5T vehicle
- Comfortable with heavy lifting and manual work
- Basic IT skills (computer literate, able to use spreadsheets)
- A flexible and reliable attitude with willingness to adapt to different duties
- Strong work ethic and team player
Additional Information
- Monday to Friday working pattern – no weekends
- 20-minute break per shift
