Duration: Temporary cover in October (immediate start)

We are currently looking for an experienced
General Operative / Counterbalance FLT Driver to provide short term cover at a busy builders' merchants.
The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working within a
builders' merchant, building supplies yard or similar environment, with experience of
picking customer orders and handling building materials.
Duties will include:
- Operating a counterbalance forklift
- Picking and preparing customer orders accurately
- Loading and unloading deliveries
- Moving and organising stock around the yard
- Picking building materials from stock for customer orders
- Assisting customers and colleagues with loading materials
- Handling building materials safely and efficiently
- General yard and warehouse duties
The ideal candidate will have:
Counterbalance Forklift licence
picking experience, ideally within a warehouse, builders' merchant or building supplies environment
- Previous experience working in a builders' merchant or similar environment
- Good knowledge of common building materials, such as
plasterboard, timber, insulation, cement and other construction products
- Good awareness of manual handling and workplace safety
- Good attention to detail when picking customer orders
- A reliable and hardworking attitude
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
