Pay: £14.00 per hour

Hours:

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
  • Friday: 7:30am – 12:30pm

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Projection Weld Setter to join our busy manufacturing team. This is a great opportunity to work within a well-established production environment with early finishes on Fridays and consistent daytime hours.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, operating, and maintaining projection welding machinery while ensuring all components are produced to the required quality standards safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and prepare projection welding machines for production runs
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions
  • Adjust welding parameters including current, pressure, and timing
  • Load and position components using jigs, fixtures, and tooling
  • Carry out first-off inspections and routine quality checks
  • Monitor machine performance and report faults where necessary
  • Ensure production targets and quality standards are achieved
  • Maintain a safe and tidy working environment
  • Complete production records and documentation accurately
  • Support continuous improvement and process optimisation activities

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience in projection welding or resistance welding
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and use measuring equipment
  • Good understanding of welding processes and quality standards
  • Strong attention to detail and quality-focused approach
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures within manufacturing

Qualifications

  • Manufacturing or engineering qualification preferred
  • Welding certification or relevant experience advantageous
