We are currently recruiting for a Transport Planner to join our client in Swadlincote. This is a great opportunity for someone who is organised, confident communicating with drivers and customers, and able to keep things running smoothly in a busy logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and coordinating daily transport schedules
- Allocating drivers and vehicles to deliveries and collections
- Monitoring deliveries and responding to any delays or changes
- Communicating with drivers throughout the shift
- Liaising with customers regarding delivery times and updates
- Updating transport systems and maintaining accurate records
- Dealing with transport queries and resolving day-to-day issues
- Supporting the wider transport team to ensure an efficient operation
The Ideal Candidate:
- Previous experience in transport, logistics or planning would be beneficial
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Confident using computers and transport/administration systems
- Able to work under pressure and prioritise a busy workload
- Good attention to detail
- A reliable and proactive approach to work
