We are currently recruiting for a Legal Secretary to join a busy and established Dudley based solicitors on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This is a varied, fast-paced role where you will provide secretarial and administrative support to the legal team, while also being an important first point of contact for clients.
Working within a criminal defence environment, you will need to be confident, professional and comfortable dealing with sensitive and sometimes challenging situations.
Duties will include:
- Handling incoming telephone calls and client enquiries
- Taking accurate messages and directing calls appropriately
- Providing secretarial and administrative support to solicitors
- Preparing and formatting correspondence and documentation
- Managing emails, records and client files
- Liaising with clients and external organisations
- Maintaining accurate and confidential information
- General administrative duties to support the smooth running of the office
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous legal secretarial or legal administrative experience – highly advantageous
- Has strong general administrative experience within a professional environment
- Is confident and computer literate
- Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Is organised with good attention to detail
- Is resilient and able to remain calm and professional when dealing with challenging or sensitive conversations
- Is comfortable working within a busy, fast-paced environment
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00am–5.00pm, with one hour unpaid lunch.
