The Opportunity
We're recruiting a hands-on Group Test Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Kingswinford. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in product development, testing and continuous improvement, working closely with Design, Technical and Quality teams to ensure products meet the highest standards of safety, quality and performance.
You'll be responsible for planning and carrying out a variety of product tests, analysing results, investigating failures and producing clear technical reports that help drive product improvements. Whilst experience within furniture manufacturing would be advantageous, we're keen to hear from candidates with transferable experience from industries such as automotive, aerospace, medical devices, manufacturing or other engineering environments.
The Role
- Plan and carry out product testing, validation and verification activities
- Develop practical test plans based on engineering requirements and industry standards
- Prepare and manage prototypes, test samples and returned products
- Investigate product failures, quality concerns and customer returns
- Analyse test data and produce clear technical reports and recommendations
- Work closely with Design, Technical and Quality teams throughout product development
- Maintain testing equipment and ensure safe working practices within the test facility
- Support product development, continuous improvement and proof-of-concept testing
- Assist with technical documentation and product compliance activities
About You
We're looking for someone with a practical engineering mindset who enjoys problem-solving and understanding how products perform in real-world conditions. You'll ideally have:
- Experience within a Test Engineer, Validation Engineer, Development Engineer, Quality Engineer or similar engineering role
- Experience planning and carrying out product testing
- Knowledge of verification, validation or compliance testing
- Experience investigating product failures and analysing results
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong technical report writing and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent engineering experience
- Experience working to ISO, BS EN or other recognised engineering standards would be advantageous.
