Associate Commercial Manager to help us make a difference to our planet.

As our Associate Commercial Manager, you will work full‑time (37 hours per week) and may work under a hybrid schedule, combining office and home work as needed.

This arrangement is voluntary and non‑contractual, and your contractual place of work is the one advertised.

Responsibilities

The Associate Commercial Manager supports the end‑to‑end sourcing of a range of requirements and provides commercial support to operational procurements.

  • Conduct pre‑procurement market engagement, develop bidders’ packs, review specifications and define evaluation requirements.
  • Use e‑sourcing, e‑tendering tools and other electronic solutions throughout the commercial lifecycle.
  • Identify risk, confirm shared understanding, allocate responsibility and agree on mitigation.
  • Apply appropriate governance and legal compliance to procurements.
  • Adjust contract management scale and depth based on contract importance and organisational goals.

Compensation and Benefits

Your total reward package will be up to £49,448 annually.

  • Civil Service pension with an average employer contribution of 28.97%
  • Recruitment Retention Allowance (RRA) of £2,000 per annum as a market supplement (paid from April 2026 to March 2027)
  • Annual leave starting at 27.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) and rising to 32.5 days after 5 years, with an option to buy or sell up to 5 days per year.

Essential Criteria

  • Fully qualified to MCIPS or willing to work towards it.
  • Ability to support low‑value/self‑service procurements and commercial queries.
  • Knowledge of compliance and assurance of operational procurements and grant defrayments.
  • Experience of early active involvement of contract management and other internal stakeholders in the sourcing process.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to adapt style to different audiences.
