We’re looking for an exceptional Senior Employee Experience Partner to help us make a difference to our planet.

Role Overview

As Senior Employee Experience Partner, you’ll lead and develop a team to deliver efficient, customer‑focused services across the employee lifecycle, from onboarding through to exit. You will report to the Head of People Operations and be accountable for ensuring services are well‑managed, continuously improved and aligned to organisational priorities. The role is full‑time (37 hours per week) with flexibility for 34 hours or job share, and may include hybrid working.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure delivery of the Employee Experience service meeting quality standards.
  • Provide strong leadership as an excellent People Manager, setting clear direction and being an active part of the Employee Experience Management team.
  • Foster strong, respected working relationships with stakeholders, including managing the relationship with the Trade Union (Prospect) and supporting development of Senior Leaders and Line Managers.
  • Inspire and deliver continuous service improvement – drive excellence across key people projects and champion innovative ways of working.
  • Be the Employee Experience expert, demonstrating best practice, sound knowledge and decisive decision‑making to continuously drive improvement.

Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge and experience of people‑profession practices across the employee lifecycle, employee relations, HR systems and pay/benefits.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, having managed delivery of a quality HR service and made effective, timely decisions.
  • Problem‑solving skills at pace to scope, develop, deliver and communicate relevant people projects or updates to practice.
  • Experience of working effectively with stakeholders such as peers, senior managers and trade union representatives to manage expectations and deliver quality service outcomes.
  • A commitment to continuous evolution of yourself and your work, demonstrated through developing new people approaches to meet business requirements.
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK, and ability to achieve full UK security clearance within 6 months of hiring.

  • Competitive salary up to £75,857 annually.
  • Excellent Civil Service pension (average employer contribution 28.97%).
  • Annual leave 27.5 days + Bank Holidays rising to 32.5 days + Bank Holidays after 5 years, with option to buy or sell up to 5 days per year.
