This is a rare opportunity to take full ownership of a consumer app at launch stage and scale it as if it were your own business. The app is being built by an established business with a loyal customer base. It is designed to support people navigating deeply personal experiences, offering a safe, thoughtful and supportive digital space for audiences who are often under-served or overlooked. The demand is proven, the ambition is significant, and the mission is meaningful with high expectations attached to this role.
This is not a narrow marketing role. The successful candidate will own the operation, growth and commercial success of the app, shaping the proposition, defining the messaging, driving acquisition, and obsessing over engagement and retention. It will suit someone who has already grown a service-led or community-driven consumer app and wants to do it again with autonomy, responsibility and purpose. Revenue will be generated on a subscription model, so you’ll ultimately drive MRR.
About You:
- Proven experience scaling a consumer-facing app or digital service, ideally within a subscription, community or service-led model.
- Commercially minded, with experience owning acquisition, activation, retention and growth metrics end to end.
- Strong background in marketing and growth, with clear examples of defining proposition, messaging and go-to-market strategy.
- Confident working across digital channels including paid media, organic growth, partnerships, influencers and content-led acquisition.
- Thrive being hands-on - whilst strategic in thought and direction this is not a role directing a team in delivery - you will own your freedom to get stuff done at speed yourself.
- Motivated by ownership and accountability, not hierarchy or job titles.
- Prepared to treat this role with the commitment and intensity of running a small business.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Leading launch and growth strategy for the app, from initial acquisition through to long-term engagement and advocacy.
- Defining and owning the product’s positioning, messaging and tone of voice across all touchpoints.
- Owning all growth channels, continually testing, refining and scaling what works.
- Shaping the user journey end to end, ensuring onboarding, engagement and retention feel supportive and high quality.
- Building partnerships with aligned organisations, creators and communities to grow reach and credibility.
- Working closely with development function and design to ensure marketing insight feeds directly into product evolution.
- Setting and tracking clear growth, engagement and retention KPIs, with full accountability for performance.
- Managing suppliers, freelancers or early hires as the platform scales.
This role will suit someone who wants autonomy and ownership who will be deeply invested in what they’re building. It is not designed for someone looking to step into a well-established structure; it’s for someone excited by creating something.
Where You'll Be Based:
This is a fully remote role with a preference to being based in the UK as most of the wider business and team are UK based and meet on occasion.
How You'll Be Rewarded:
Salary is negotiable dependent on experience but anticipating being in the £60,000 - £80,000 region to secure the appropriate level of experience, confidence and autonomy. You’ll also get 25 days holiday, standard pension and the most incredible experience driving the growth of a hugely meaningful new platform from the front.
Please apply ASAP or for an informal conversation about whether this could be right, get in touch with Tom Fordham. If your CV isn’t up to date but the role resonates, a conversation is encouraged.
