GEOSPATIAL SURVEYOR / SENIOR SURVEYOR
Leeds, West Yorkshire | Permanent | Full-time
£32,000–£44,000 + benefits, depending on experience
Ready to take your surveying career further?
BUILD YOUR SURVEY CAREER FROM THE GROUND UP.
You’ll plan and deliver topographical, engineering and measured building surveys, from brief and method selection through fieldwork, processing, quality checks and delivery. Using total stations, GNSS, spirit levels, laser scanners, LSS and AutoCAD, you’ll produce accurate 2D and 3D plans, elevations and sections to our technical, quality, safety and environmental standards.
Every project is different: one day you could be mapping a development site; the next, surveying a complex building or processing a point cloud. You’ll work alongside land, measured building and utility surveyors, geophysicists and GIS specialists, with regular travel and overnight stays adding further variety.
HOW YOU’LL GROW
At Surveyor level, you’ll be trusted to deliver routine work with limited or no supervision while developing technically, professionally and commercially. At Senior Surveyor level, you’ll take greater project ownership, set a high standard for quality and help less experienced surveyors to develop.
Our Geospatial Surveyor graded competence framework gives you a clear route into more complex work, technical specialism or survey management, supported by training, qualifications and CICES development where appropriate.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
You’ll be a practical, methodical surveyor who takes pride in accurate work and is comfortable working both on site and in the office.
• Strong experience in 2D and 3D topographical and measured building surveying, laser scanning and related survey methods, using total stations, GNSS, spirit levels and control networks.
• Confidence in processing survey data and producing high-quality 2D and 3D CAD deliverables. LSS experience would be an advantage but is not essential.
• Confident using relevant survey and point-cloud software, including Cyclone, TruView, ReCap, Undet or CloudWorx, CloudCompare, 3DR, Revit and Pix4D.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach, clear communication and teamwork, with strong quality, health and safety and environmental awareness.
• The flexibility to travel and stay away from home when required, plus a full UK driving licence.
At Senior Surveyor level, we’d also expect you to lead by example, take ownership of more complex work and support the development of other surveyors.
WHAT YOU’LL GET
£32,000–£44,000 salary depending on experience, plus:
• Structured technical training, support for relevant qualifications and CPD, plus CICES membership sponsorship and access to our CICES Approved Development Scheme where appropriate.
• A clear competence-based progression route through the Surveyor grades and towards more senior responsibility.
• Varied projects across different sites, sectors and survey disciplines.
• A 20-day leave allowance (excluding Bank Holidays), increasing with service up to a maximum of 6 weeks plus Bank Holidays.
• Approved overtime as additional pay or leave.
• Workplace pension scheme, Cycle to Work scheme, and employee discounts and rewards.
More importantly: A chance to build a career—not just a job.
