Position Description

This position assists with the cleaning of our residence halls and/or cleaning academic buildings, sporting facilities, cafeterias, and public areas located across Central Campus during the summer conference months. This position also aids in the set up and tear down of all the events that take place in this area while following the lead of their supervisor. Project cleaning and providing support in the laundry room will take place under the discretion of the supervisor.

Fulltime Positions:

  • Days: Sunday-Saturday (Staff will be assigned to work 5 days/week).
  • Weekends: Required to work every other weekend.
  • Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (37.5 hours/week)
  • Time Off: Staff may request up to 10 unpaid days off (approval on 1st come basis).
  • Free Meal: Staff will receive a free meal with every shift.

Education Required: None

Experience Required: None, will train.

Experience Preferred: Any previous employment: cleaning and/or event set up.

Special Working Conditions

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must possess full range of physical motion and be able to stand or walk for long periods of time as demanded by cleaning/event set-up tasks.
  • Must be able to handle cleaning chemicals.

  • Jeans or Modest shorts
  • Campus Events T-shirt (Supplied)
  • Closed toed shoes
  • Shift: 7:30am to 4:00pm (37.5 hours/week)
  • Lunch: 1-hour (Free lunch included – per shift).
  • Work Schedule: Assigned to five (5) days a week, assigned Sunday-Saturday. You will be assigned to work every other weekend.
  • Vacation days: Ten ‘unpaid’ days may be taken. Vacation requests the first and last two weeks of the summer schedule and the week of June 29 – July 6 are limited. All date requests are on a first come basis.
  • Driving Requirements

    None

    Primary Duties

    1. Clean central campus buildings for conference and group usage. This may include the use of various cleaning equipment such as vacuums, wet vacs, and carpet cleaning machines.
    2. Clean and prepare Dorms/Apartments for conferences.
    3. Follow standard cleaning procedures and an outline of work as determined by the Head Custodian or Building Coordinator.
    4. Complete set ups and tear downs for events; moving furniture.
    5. Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
