One of Manchester's leading universities is looking to hire a Facilities Operative with a manual car driving licence. The ideal candidate will have a full UK driving licence and be confident driving a small van 3 times per day.
Responsibilities:
- Driving Duties: Safely operate company vehicles to transport goods, materials, and equipment between locations. Ensure vehicles are well-maintained, clean, and in good working condition. Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Cleaning Duties: Perform regular cleaning tasks to maintain cleanliness in all areas of the facility, including offices, restrooms, and communal areas. Use appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies to achieve optimal results. Replenish consumables such as paper towels, soap, and toilet rolls, in toilets, washrooms and staff kitchenettes. Identify and report any maintenance or repair needs. Use all materials in a cost effective and economical way, minimising waste where possible.
- Waste Removal: Efficiently manage the collection, segregation, and disposal of waste in accordance with university policies and environmental regulations. Ensure waste disposal areas are kept clean and orderly. Coordinate with the external facilities team as required.
- Premise Maintenance: Secure and alarm University buildings and car parks, including the operation of traffic barriers and the placement of temporary traffic barriers when needed.
