The ideal candidate will be responsible for the designing and tendering projects up to 132kV. This role requires a strong technical background, attention to detail, leadership skills, and excellent communication.
Responsibilities
- Provide detailed and accurate plans to allow our teams to deliver clients' projects within budget.
- Carry out all electrical design works ranging from LV to 132kV, including associated protection and design studies for ICP connections and customer networks.
- Demonstrate high standards in planning and organising work, ensuring timely delivery of clear and accurate designs.
- Collaborate effectively with all stakeholders to manage expectations and deliver on promises.
- Assess engineering feasibility and compliance, preparing accurate budgetary requirements for new projects.
- Evaluate new designs and applications in substations, overhead lines, underground cables, and private networks.
- Control risks and budgets, informing all project stakeholders of progress and changes.
- Ensure all work adheres to company policies, safety rules, statutory regulations, and customer requirements.
- Fulfill the CDM responsibilities as a Designer, ensuring health and safety compliance.
- Provide technical support to the project delivery team in designing, constructing, and operating power systems, substations, and networks.
- Proficient with G81 standards, ensuring all designs meet industry regulations and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Ideally, HNC/HND or have a Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Carried out designs for DNO or Private Networks.
- Ideally three years experience, as a minimum, in a design role.
- Possession of an ESUR - CSCS card.
- Computer literate – skilled in MS Office, AutoCAD, Trimble, Windebut, and ETAP design packages.
