Medical Science Liaison (MSL)

We are seeking a motivated and scientifically driven Medical Science Liaison (MSL) to join our growing Medical Affairs team.

This is a field-based role covering the UK and Ireland, focused on delivering high-quality scientific engagement, healthcare professional education, and injector training within the medical aesthetics sector.

The MSL will serve as a scientific partner to healthcare professionals, including dermatologists, plastic surgeons, aesthetic physicians, dentists, pharmacists, nurses, and other aesthetic practitioners.

Through peer‑to‑peer scientific exchange, the MSL will help ensure healthcare professionals have access to accurate, balanced, and clinically relevant information.

A key focus of the role will be supporting injector education and training initiatives, providing scientific expertise during training programmes, workshops, and educational events while working closely with commercial colleagues to support customer engagement in a compliant manner.

  • Delivering face‑to‑face scientific education and injector training programmes to healthcare professionals.
  • Supporting workshops, educational meetings, product training events, and hands‑on scientific learning initiatives.
  • Acting as a trusted scientific resource for HCPs seeking information on clinical evidence, treatment approaches, patient selection, and best practices.
  • Supporting the development and delivery of compliant scientific training materials.
  • Providing scientific support at educational events, congresses, and customer meetings.
  • Scientific Exchange & Medical Education
  • Develop and maintain scientific relationships with healthcare professionals across the UK and Ireland.
  • Deliver evidence‑based presentations, clinical updates, and educational sessions to HCPs.
  • Support injector training activities, workshops, and educational programmes.
  • Respond to medical and scientific enquiries from healthcare professionals in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Attend relevant medical congresses, meetings, and educational events.
  • Maintain current knowledge of clinical data, scientific literature, and developments within medical aesthetics.
  • Capture and document scientific interactions and field insights through approved CRM systems.
  • Identify emerging educational needs and communicate field insights to Medical Affairs.
  • HCP & Field Support
  • Provide scientific support to healthcare professionals throughout their customer journey.
  • Attend customer‑facing meetings where scientific expertise is required.
  • Support training initiatives for new and existing customers.
  • Assist healthcare professionals in understanding clinical evidence, product use, treatment outcomes, and patient selection considerations.
  • Build strong relationships that support long‑term scientific engagement.
  • Commercial Collaboration
  • Partner with sales and marketing colleagues to provide scientific and clinical support within compliant frameworks.
  • Deliver scientific training to internal teams.
  • Contribute to the development of educational resources, FAQs, and scientific materials.
  • Support peer‑to‑peer educational events and speaker programmes.
  • Medical Affairs Activities
  • Support execution of the UK & Ireland Medical Affairs plan.
  • Collaborate with Medical Information, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory Affairs, and Commercial teams.
  • Provide field insights to support medical strategy and educational planning.
  • Support pharmacovigilance reporting by identifying and reporting adverse events in accordance with company procedures.
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in line with ABPI, IPHA, MHRA, and company compliance requirements.
  • Key working relationships

Aesthetics medical affairs colleagues (MSL colleagues within Merz Aesthetics, Scientific Advisors, Medical Information) to work as a team and deliver the Aesthetics medical plan.

Aesthetics commercial colleagues in marketing and sales to ensure alignment on customer interactions.

Given therapy area KOLs to act as partners in the delivery of project to achieve better outcomes for patients.

Global and Regional Aesthetics colleagues to align on research and global medical projects.

Qualification, experience & knowledge requirements

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree Pharmacy, Nursing, Medicine, Dentistry.
  • 1–2 years' experience as an MSL OR relevant Medical Affairs, Clinical Education, Clinical Training, Medical Information, or Healthcare Professional engagement experience.
  • Experience delivering healthcare professional education and injector training.
  • Experience working with healthcare professionals (HCPs) in medical aesthetics.
  • Strong scientific communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with HCPs.
  • Understanding of compliance requirements and ethical scientific engagement.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the UK and Ireland.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience within medical aesthetics, dermatology, plastic surgery, or related therapeutic areas.
  • Knowledge of the UK and Irish healthcare landscape.
  • Familiarity with ABPI and/or IPHA Codes of Practice.
