The Merton School Sport Partnership (MSSP) works with schools across the London Borough of Merton (LBM) to improve the quality, range and impact of physical education, school sport and physical activity for children and young people. It supports primary and secondary schools through specialist sports coaching, teacher training, inclusive sporting opportunities, and competitive events, while also promoting participation, physical literacy and healthy, active lifestyles. The partnership helps schools meet national PE and School Sport requirements, strengthen links with local sports clubs, and ensures opportunities are accessible for all pupils, including those who are less active or have additional needs.

Interns will be given the opportunity to gain real development experience within school sport. During the placement, students will be expected to support with the development, coordination and delivery of high‑quality sporting opportunities for school aged children in the LBM, within the framework of the MSSP Partnership Plan.
