An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Pensions investment department in Resources. We need a senior Accountant to manage the financial accounting, reporting, and control of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) Pension Fund, ensuring compliance with the Local Government Pension Scheme Regulations, CIPFA Code of Practice, IFRS, and all relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.

In addition the postholder will be responsible for the preparation of the Pension Fund Annual Report and Accounts, investment accounting, financial reporting, treasury transactions, audit liaison, and supporting the Pension Committee and Local Pension Board with high-quality financial information. Liaison with the LGPS Pool (LCIV) as required.

The fund is in excess of £1bn and is by far the largest budget in the Council.

There will be a significant amount of autonomy associated with the role and we require an ambitious qualified or part qualified Accountant to work within the team to help manage key aspects of this substantial fund.
