We're looking for a driven and analytical PMO Analyst to support the delivery of our portfolio of change and transformation programmes within the Finance & Digital directorate.
Reporting into the Digital Delivery Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our projects and programmes are well-governed, effectively tracked, and deliver real outcomes for our residents.
Key responsibilities will include
- Developing and maintaining portfolio-level reporting, including Power BI dashboards, to provide senior leaders with a clear view of progress, risks, issues and benefits.
- Supporting programme and project managers with planning, RAID logs, financial tracking and milestone reporting.
- Analysing data to identify trends, risks and opportunities across the portfolio, and translating insight into clear recommendations.
- Championing PMO standards, templates and governance across the directorate, coaching colleagues to apply them consistently.
- Preparing papers and reports for programme boards, steering groups and senior stakeholders.
- Supporting benefits tracking and realisation across the portfolio.
- Our ideal candidate
We're looking for someone who's as comfortable working with the detail as they are talking to senior stakeholders — an organised, curious and collaborative analyst who takes pride in getting things right.
You will have
- Proven experience working within a PMO, project or programme environment, ideally within a large and complex organisation.
- Strong data and reporting skills, with hands‑on experience of Power BI (or a comparable tool)
- Sound knowledge of project and programme management methodologies (such as PRINCE2, MSP or Agile) and how PMO disciplines support delivery.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, compelling updates for a range of audiences.
- A proactive and resourceful approach, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A collaborative mindset — you enjoy working across teams, building relationships and supporting colleagues to succeed.
- A genuine interest in public service and improving the lives of the communities we serve.
A relevant project or PMO qualification, and experience of local government or the wider public sector, would be an advantage — but if you have the skills and the drive, we'd love to hear from you.
