We are seeking an ambitious and innovative Commissioner for Technology Enabled Care (TEC) & Digital Innovation to drive the future of care technology across Adult Social Care. This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to lead the development and implementation of Merton's Care Technology Strategy, ensuring that residents are supported to live as independently as possible in their own homes for as long as they are able. Working across Adult Social Care and Digital Services, you will champion technology-enabled approaches that improve outcomes, promote independence, support strengths-based practice and deliver sustainable, high-quality services., As the Commissioning & Delivery Lead for care technology, you will:
- Develop and deliver a multi-year Care Technology Strategy and implementation roadmap.
- Lead commissioning and service transformation programmes that embed care technology into everyday practice.
- Work closely with operational teams, digital colleagues, health partners and providers to redesign pathways and improve outcomes.
- Oversee the modernisation and development of Merton's in-house telecare service.
- Manage strategic contracts, supplier relationships and performance frameworks.
- Drive innovation through the adoption of emerging technologies and digital solutions.
- Identify opportunities for efficiencies, cost avoidance and service improvement.
- Act as the subject matter expert on care technology and digital innovation across the organisation and wider partnership networks.
- We are looking for a strategic leader who combines commissioning expertise with a passion for innovation and service transformation.
You will bring:
- Significant commissioning experience within Adult Social Care, health, or a related public sector environment.
- Experience of developing, commissioning, managing or transforming technology enabled care, telecare or digital services.
- A strong track record of leading complex transformation and change programmes.
- Experience of working collaboratively across organisational boundaries, including with health partners, providers and operational teams.
- Strong contract management and performance management skills.
- Experience of managing budgets and delivering value for money.
- An excellent understanding of care technology, digital innovation and emerging technologies that support independence and wellbeing.
- Communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
- Degree-level qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
The current working arrangement for the team is hybrid arrangement with a minimum expectation of 3 days in the office / in the local community.
