The predicted salary is between 30000 - 40000 £ per year.
This is an additional Health and Safety Advisor role offered on a 12-month fixed term contract; you will work alongside our two experienced advisors. This role will support Merton's work delivering and further developing the Council's Health and Safety arrangements.
A strong background and experience in health and safety is required as is a willingness to attend the Civic Centre and other locations throughout Merton Borough to conduct audits and inspections of the Council's premises, including our schools.
The post holder will support the Corporate Health and Safety Manager in implementing a safety management system including reviewing and updating policies and procedures, implementing the health and safety improvement programme and delivering induction and training to staff across the council.
A key function will be advising on health and safety responsibilities and further developing a positive culture. We are a busy, friendly, and supportive team. Excellent communication, collaborative skills and an ability to work across a varied range of projects are essential.
