Salary Grade ME6 - £12,647 (pro-rated) per annum. We are hiring not just one, but 5 Drivers to join the Transport Service team at Merton.
About the role
Our driver attendants provide an excellent service to our customers and community transporting service users between schools, colleges, day centres and residential homes, assisting and encouraging passengers to regain and maintain their mobility and independence. Many of our users have special needs so you will have a calm and caring approach with the ability to assist passengers on and off vehicles and to their destination. Our ideal candidates will be flexible and reliable with excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with parents/guardians, staff and passengers of the service and to be tactful and professional at all times whilst maintaining user confidentiality and understanding all health and safety aspects relating to vehicle checks and passenger safety. About you
You must hold a full D1 (101) or D drivers licence initially and if successful to join the team, you will be provided with full training where you will be trained to PCV standards. You will work 20 hours a week. The morning start time can be between 06:30 and 08:30 and the afternoon start time can be between 14:15 and 15:15. This is a term-time only position, with possible overtime available. You will drive different routes as required, so you will need to be flexible. Due to the nature of the role, an enhanced DBS check will be required.
