Overview
Lead and manage a team of professional staff to ensure effective service delivery of the Structures section in line with the Council’s polices, relevant legislation, codes of practice and contractual requirements.
Responsibilities
Act as lead officer for all structural related matters for the authority. The post holder will be responsible for the management and day‑to‑day service delivery in relation to structural inspections, assessments, monitoring and maintenance of Council assets such as bridges, retaining walls, pedestrian subways, disused coal tips and four reservoirs.
All employees are required to comply with their individual and organisational responsibilities under the Data Protection Act, the Information Security Policy, and relevant supporting operational policies. Any matters of a confidential nature must not be disclosed or passed to any unauthorised persons or third parties under any circumstance either during or after employment except in the proper course of your employment or as required by law, Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council or both. Any breach of confidentiality may lead to disciplinary action.
